You probably know cartoonist/caricaturist/satirist Ralph Steadman best for the highly appropriate (i.e. severely demented) splatter illustrations in Hunter S. Thompson’s Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and other gonzo writings. This inventively shot (sometimes animated!) overview of his unique, 50-year career revolves, somewhat distractingly, around an interview conducted by fan/friend Johnny Depp. It’s rich in anecdotes and demonstrations of his creative process. That’s good in an art doc. But in the end, I still didn’t know what makes Ralph tick. That’s not. Limited, but worth a look. (90 min)
