Artist-in-Residence programs are a fixture of the contemporary art scene. But aside from subsidizing artists’ foreign junkets, do they contribute to the art world? And are influences from their overseas residencies discernable in their art? “Home Again” presents the output of ten young artists who lived in Japan for three months between 2007 and 2011. Among them are several artists from non-Western countries, including Afghan miniature artist Khadim Ali and Indian creator of three-dimensional drawings Minam Apang. Also among the ten are artists from Argentina, Indonesia and Brazil.
