Anyone who has ever been to France in the month of January has seen the galettes des rois that appear in the window of the country’s many bakeries. Now Le Pain de Joel Robuchon is offering messieurs and mesdames in Tokyo the chance to enjoy the delicious puff pastry and the nostalgic ritual that goes along with it. The almond cream filled pastries are available for pre-order and go on sale in all stores on December 26. King cakes are made to celebrate the Christian holiday of Epiphany on January 6, and contain fève, a small prize that brings luck to its finder for the whole year. Available in small (¥1,260) and large (¥2,625)—including fève—at the Ebisu, Shibuya Hikarie and Roppongi locations.
