Charismatic MMA champion-turned-actress Gina Carano appears in a brilliant movie that turns the action-hero trope on its head by having a badass woman colorfully take on a variety of villains in a number of imaginative and violent ways.

But, unfortunately, that movie was Steven Soderbergh’s Haywire, not this waste of the lady’s talent.

A honeymooning bride whose husband has been kidnapped in the Caribbean for medical donation purposes, takes on not only the kidnappers, but the complicit police and corrupt hospital network as well, to get her man back. Ho-hum. Go rent Haywire. Japanese title: Bride Weapon. (101 min)
