New Orleans rocker Myself launches his new album in Japan with a gig at Crocodile in Shibuya. Punk Floyd ropes the funk of his hometown into the edgy rock’n’roll of The Clash or Red Hot Chili Peppers for an effect somewhat akin to that of Fishbone—who, in fact, appear on the album along with co-guest star Ivan Neville of the hallowed Neville Brothers. Anticipation for the album, produced by Grammy-winning engineer Sylvia Massy, has been building since the release of Myself’s febrile single “Saint/Sinner” last month, and the performer is sure not to disappoint with his electric live show.
