Earlier in the year, we introduced the first in Phat Company’s Dokidoki Doubutsu Series, a line of PVC figurines that celebrates unsung members of the animal kingdom. If you’ve already bought their alpaca doll, now you can complement it with the newest additions to the range: the shoebill and capybara. (Yes, we had to Google that last one too—it’s the world’s largest rodent, apparently.) The 1/12 scale models show a commendable attention to detail that helps them transcend the inevitable charges of pointlessness. After all, if you’re going to do something, you might as well do it properly.
Shoebill and capybara, ¥1,050 each. Available from most toy stores. www.phatcompany.jp
