New Year’s resolutions are tricky. Every year, I make drastic, over-reaching goals like “waste less time on Facebook,” “make better friends,” and “find more enjoyment in everyday life.” I’ve been doing that for as long as I can remember. My husband says that’s “very American” of me and, when we lived in the States, he used to laugh at the number of people who showed up to the gym only for the first couple days of January. By February, the gym was back to being a ghost town.
