If you aren’t quite up to a two-day slog through the countryside, how about something a little closer to home (and with a little more booze involved)? Run for the Cure’s annual Pink Ball is coming up soon, and you’ll want to get your registration in quickly, since it’s always a popular shindig. This year’s theme is “Hollywood Romance,” complete with a red carpet for guests to stroll down, live music, gourmet food, fine wines, and silent and live auctions for vacations, hotel stays and other luxurious prizes. The money raised goes toward Run for the Cure’s mission of eradicating breast cancer as a life-threatening disease in Japan.

Feb 25, 6:30pm. ¥35,000. The Westin Tokyo, Galaxy Ballroom, 1-4-1 Mita, Meguro-ku. Nearest stn: Ebisu. See www.runforthecure.org for more info.
