After punk rock progenitor Nick Lowe convinced Ry Cooder to revive their ’80s partnership for a benefit gig in San Francisco last year, the concert spawned a worldwide tour that now reaches Japan. As in-house producer for Stiff Records, Lowe guided the work of artists like The Damned and Elvis Costello & The Attractions; Cooder, the creator of the Buena Vista Social Club, is recognized as one of the world’s most distinctive guitarists and musical archeologists, often put in the same league as Jimmy Page and Eric Clapton. For the tour, the pair will be joined by Flaco Jimenez on accordion, Joachim Cooder on drums, and vocalist Juliette Commagere.
