This exhilarating trek through the crazed mind of philosopher and psychoanalyst Slavoj Zizek uses clips from 43 movies to illustrate his ideas on sexuality and notions of reality vs. fantasy, often imaginatively presented from the very places where the films were shot. He concentrates on Hitchcock, Kubrick and Lynch, but includes the Marx Brothers and The Matrix. While two and a half straight hours of this intense, English-mangling, ursine Slovene may be a bit much for some, this perspicacious film by Ralph’s sister Sophie Fiennes is worth the sit (although a DVD consumed piecemeal may be better). Japanese title: Slavoj Zijek ni Yoru Tosaku teki Eiga Gaido.
