Though hard to find, there are some good romantic comedies out there. This is not one of them. It probably looked better on paper, and Catherine Zeta-Jones likely saw a challenge in the role of a single mother reluctantly hooking up with a much younger man (Justin Bartha). This aggressively unfunny waste of celluloid might have worked if she had ever convinced us she wasn’t acting (to be fair, her part was written without much depth), or if the two precocious kids were a tad less annoying, or if both principals’ horny sidekicks weren’t so colossally off-putting. I’ll keep looking.
