The apparently loving David and Dawn are repairing a rural fixer-upper after returning to David’s hometown in rural Kent and struggling to make a baby. Their lives are disrupted with the appearance of David’s younger brother Nick, an Afghanistan vet not without a few neuroses. Nick knows, and shares, all the town’s secrets, and we soon learn that David may not be the rock he seems to be. This is one of those accomplished films of brooding disquiet and sexual tension the Brits do so well (and often), showcasing this time the wonderful talents of Benedict Cumberbatch, Claire Foy and Shaun Evans.
