Freewheeling creative space 3331 Chiyoda offers “20 days of dancing, seeing, making, talking about, buying, and eating art.” Since opening in 2010 in a disused elementary school near Akihabara, 3331 has elbowed forth as one of Tokyo’s liveliest arts centers. The expo’s centerpiece is an open exhibition of dozens of artists without a selection panel or hierarchy. This weekend also sees 3331 host an “Odorinoba” (“dance-place”) program of more than 30 short performances ranging from multilingual theater troupe Utsubo to bleeding-edge dance company Kakuya Ohashi and Dancers. Best of all—it’s free.
