In this lightweight yet insightful road movie for grown-ups by Sam Mendes (American Beauty, Revolutionary Road), a newly pregnant couple (played with genuine chemistry by The Office’s John Krasinski and SNL’s Maya Rudolph) are musing upon what kind of world they want for their child. They visit a crude former co-worker in Arizona (Allison Janney), an insufferable New Ager in Wisconsin (Maggie Gyllenhaal), and others in family situations in Montreal and Miami. On the way they generate a few laughs and a few tears as they uncover what it means to be a parent. A small film but a real gem.
