If you’re about to bite the inevitable bullet and make the move to Blu-ray, then we recommend you don’t consider Sharp’s latest Aquos LCD TV sets with Blu-ray recorders built in. Mind you, that’s just us.
The flashy DX2 series tellies range from 26 inches (¥170,000) to 52 inches (¥480,000) and can squeeze up to 30 hours of high-def recordings onto one dual-layer BD. Which is nice, but what happens when the (tech) crunch comes and one or other half of that tasty sandwich goes poof? Perhaps repairing stuff will come back into fashion. That’ll be the day.
