We’re all aware of the Japanese passion for seasonal sodas and juices, but thankfully, that obsession isn’t limited to just soft drinks. Popular Kanagawa microbrewery Sankt Gallen threw the beer world into a tizzy with the announcement of its new Toriaezu Beer, a brew with so little flavor that it “goes with anything.” (Incidentally, this announcement came on April 1, but don’t read too much into that.) Those looking for something with a little more character should try Sankt Gallen’s Pineapple Ale, which goes on sale from April 28. The fruity drink, made by adding pineapple juice to yeast at the fermentation stage, is the latest addition to the brewery’s line of sweet beers, which also includes Sweet Vanilla Stout, Apple Cinnamon Ale and the orange-flavored Shonan Gold.
