Carnaval du Abilletage

Corset madness

Originally published on metropolis.co.jp on June 2012

What better way to celebrate the one-year anniversary of a corset shop than by throwing a carnivalesque bash with a spectrum of weird and wonderful performers and artists? Corset designer and maker Bambi, of Shinjuku shop Abilletage, is doing just that at the gothic Christon Café. The celebration will feature a carousel of zany folk including MC Preta Porco from Tokyo Decadance, an aerial performer from Cirque Du Soleil, Showa-era pop duo Kukushoku Sumire, burlesque dancers, a body-painter, mask-maker, and doll-maker, and dozens of others.

Christon Cafe. July 1 (listing).
