Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
The Brooklyn rockers’ first visit since Fuji Rock ’09

Brooklyn rockers CYHSY return with their first album in four years and first visit to Japan since Fuji Rock ’09. Hard to argue with a song titled “Ketamine and Ecstasy,” and Hysterical delivers on the promise of good times therein with a set of fun-filled, barreling-along rock tunes. Emerging out of nowhere in 2005, CYHSY became one of the first internet-fueled indie sensations, but with a four-year wait for the new album many had written them off. Hysterical returns them to the spotlight and signals that, despite the flood of Brooklyn bands in the intervening years, they remain contenders for the low-fi indie crown.
