Modern dance doyenne Twyla Tharp has been choreographing crooner Frank Sinatra’s songs since the 1970s, including Sinatra Suite with Mikhail Baryshnikov. For Come Fly Away she operates in the musical format, much more familiar terrain for the legendary “Ol’ Blue Eyes” and his fans. The musical, which opened in 2010, sets Sinatra’s songs in a 1940s New York City nightclub, where four dancing couples seek love and romance to the smooth soundtrack of old classics like “Fly Me to the Moon” and, of course, “New York, New York.”
