Divertingly forgettable flick that Don didn’t hate

The plot of this divertingly forgettable flick has been done to death: reformed smuggler (thief/assassin/etc.) taking on one last job to save a screw-up friend or relative from some very ugly criminals. It’s needlessly complex (there’s another, entirely separate, heist), rife with ludicrous coincidences, and seems to be driven solely by characters doing extremely stupid things. Mark Wahlberg can do this kind of thing is his sleep, Ben Foster’s his partner in crime, and Kate Beckinsale is underused. Giovanni Ribisi stands out as a wonderfully oleaginous New Awleans villain. Confession: I didn’t hate it.
