The Electric Daisy Carnival debuted in Los Angeles, California, in 1997. Now, more than 20 years later, the dance music festival has exploded in popularity — the festival takes place annually in Las Vegas, Orlando, Mexico, China, Japan and Korea, with previous editions held in New York, Puerto Rico, India and Brazil. EDC has come to be known as a top-class dance-music festival, bringing in major crowds from all around the world with a single mission: to celebrate life, art and individuality and party the weekend away with the world’s best dance music DJs.

When it opened its doors for the first time in Japan two years ago (2017), up to 84,000 people were welcomed into the ZOZO Marine Stadium and Makuhari Kaihin Park for the weekend festival. EDC Japan’s stages have been graced with performances by Don Diablo, Steve Aoki, Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike, Diplo, Martin Garrix and many more world renown DJs.

This year, the festival will be even bigger and more diverse in its musical offerings, with hip-hop, trap, techno and house music—complemented by talent from Japan’s local music scene. HARD and Factory 93, two of Insomniac’s most distinctive brands, will be hosting stages at EDC Japan for the first time.

HARD is best known its widely popular HARD Summer Music Festival in Southern California. In 2018 alone, the premiere electronic and hip-hop festival hosted Travis Scott, Marshmello, Zeds Dead, and Dillon Francis, along with over 100 other performers. Hosting its first multi-day festival in Downtown Los Angeles, Secret Project, Factory 93 is a fast-growing underground music brand that specializes in immersive live art and the interplay between technology and house and techno music. Secret Project received the 2018 FestX Award for Best New Festival.

Ploomtech will also be guaranteeing a better experience for all. As an official partner of EDC Japan, Ploomtech guarantees you’ll go home without the stifling smell of tobacco clinging to you. You’ll be fresh and ready for Day Two!

While the line-up has not been announced yet, EDC Japan is on a clear trajectory to making perhaps the most memorable music festival in Tokyo this year. That’s why it’s crucial to buy your tickets early, with the month of January offering incredible early-bird discounts. Currently, the price for a general two-day ticket is ¥20,000 (tax inclusive), a great value considering the price will increase by ¥2,000 every time a tier’s tickets are sold out. Similarly, VIP tickets are selling for ¥52,000 for two-day access (tax inclusive), but once this tier’s tickets are sold out, the price increases to ¥55,000.

Make no mistake — this is going to be one of the best EDC festivals in the world. Don’t miss the chance to make the most of your money, so you can treat yourself to incredible food, drinks and merchandise at the festival. After all, this festival is all about letting loose and treating yourself to the best the world has to offer!
