Celebrate the start of Tokyo’s summer with the 47th Adachi Fireworks Festival, scheduled for Saturday, May 31, 2025, from 7:20pm to 8:20pm. This year marks a significant change, as the festival moves from its traditional July date to May, aiming to provide a more comfortable experience by avoiding the peak heat and unpredictable weather of midsummer.

Held along the scenic Arakawa River, between the Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line Bridge and Nishiarai Bridge, the festival will feature more that 13,000 fireworks. Including additional shows commemorating the 400th anniversary of Senju-juku, offering spectators a high-density, one-hour spectacle unique to Adachi.

What to Expect

Arrive early to secure a spot along the riverbanks. While the fireworks begin at 7:20pm, many attendees start gathering in the afternoon. The event will proceed in light rain but will be canceled in the event of severe weather conditions .
