Tokyo River Friends, a non-profit organization dedicated to cleaning Tokyo’s rivers, is holding events every Sunday at Arakawa river. They make volunteering productive as well as fun by including a picnic/ barbecue along the water as well as a chance to meet other like-minded volunteers.

If you are interested in contributing to this cause and making a positive environmental impact, join their weekly river-cleaning events!

Dates: March 26 (Sun.), April 2 (Sun.), April 9 (Sun.)

Time: 1:00pm – 5:30pm

Location: Funabori Station (Shinjuku Line)

Volunteers meet right outside of the ticket gate at Funabori Station and head over to the river together. If you happen to arrive late, it is a 25-minute walk from the station to the cleaning location which is between the Shinjuku Line train bridge and a large orange power line.
