Flavia Mazzanti’s First Solo Exhibition in Japan – “What Matter Entangles, What EmBodies Resonates”

As part of DIG SHIBUYA 2025, the art gallery CONTRAST presents “What Matter Entangles, What EmBodies Resonates” , the first solo exhibition in Japan by multimedia artist Flavia Mazzanti. Running from February 8 to February 11, 2025, this exhibition invites visitors to explore the relationship between the body and its physical and social environment through digital art, immersive technology and experimental animation.
Featured works include a post-photographic series created between Brazil and Vienna, along with the short film Sympoietic Bodies. The multidisciplinary project Beyond My Skin which merges physical and virtual environments, will screen videos shot in Shibuya, Vienna, and São Paulo on LED displays, while visitors can also experience a mixed reality (MR) installation.

Join us for a preview party on February 8 (Saturday) from 3pm to 6pm at CONTRAST.
Special Screening at Shibuya Crossing
On February 10 at midnight, the Shibuya Crossing Night Art program will feature Sympoietic Bodies and Beyond My Skin on the giant LED billboards of Shibuya Scramble Crossing, offering a unique large-scale urban art experience.
About Flavia Mazzanti
Born in 1994, Flavia Mazzanti is a multimedia artist based in Vienna and São Paulo. A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, she has exhibited at international festivals and museums, including the Belvedere Museum. In 2023, she was recognized in Forbes’ 30 Under 30. She co-founded Immerea, co-organizes XRVienna and serves as Austria’s Euromersive Co-Ambassador.
