From September 3–9, 2025, Shinjuku Takashimaya’s 10th floor “Timeless Design” hosts Designing Trees: Two Artists Exhibition. The highlight is Hiroyuki Hashino, an Imperial Household–recognized master woodcraft artist and Beverly Hills ACCA Gallery member. Renowned for working with rare woods such as 300-year-old Onoore Kanba, Hashino creates refined works that unite artistry and function. Visitors can admire a long-handled shoehorn presented to the Imperial Family, elegant twisted combs, and premium sake cups (guinomi) whose warmth and smooth finish elevate each sip. This exhibition offers a rare chance to encounter Japan’s highest level of craftsmanship.
