Kameido Wisteria Festival

Kameido Tenjin Wisteria Festival 2026

Apr 20, 2026 at 12:00am ~ Apr 30, 2026 at 11:30pm

The Kameido Wisteria Festival transforms Kameido Tenjin Shrine into one of Tokyo’s most scenic spring destinations. Located in Koto, the shrine is famous for its long wisteria trellises that stretch over reflective ponds, creating picturesque views that attract visitors each year.

During the festival, visitors walk along pathways lined with blooming wisteria. The flowers hang in clusters of purple, pink and white, forming a canopy that shifts in appearance throughout the month. Because blooming times vary depending on weather conditions, the scenery changes across April.

While the Kameido Wisteria Festival runs from April 4 to April 30, peak bloom usually occurs between early and mid-April. During this period, the flowers reach their fullest state and create the most vibrant displays. Evening illuminations often take place from sunset until 9:00 PM, offering a different perspective of the blooms.

The shrine grounds remain open 24 hours, while the main hall operates from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Entry is free, making this one of the most accessible seasonal events in Tokyo.

The Kameido Wisteria Festival attracts large crowds, especially on weekends. Visit on weekday mornings for a quieter and more relaxed experience.
