MOMAT Collection: One of Japan’s Largest Art Displays

The “MOMAT Collection—Permanent Collection Exhibition” presents one of Japan’s largest modern and contemporary art displays, drawing from the National Museum of Modern Art of approximately 14,000 works. Each season, 200 carefully selected pieces are shown. It gives visitors an overview of key developments in Japanese and international art, including notable works by artists such as Yoshitomo Nara. The exhibition is organized thematically across multiple galleries, with special connections to related shows on the museum’s first floor.


Exhibition Opening Hours:

Tuesday–Thursday & Sunday: 10am – 5pm

Friday & Saturday: 10am – 8pm (Last entry is 30 minutes before closing)

Admission Fees:

  • Adults: ¥500
  • University students: ¥250
  • Free for under 18, 65+, and people with disability certificates (plus one companion)(ID required)
