Step aboard a boat near Haneda Airport and sail directly under roaring aircraft as they ascend and descend over Tokyo Bay. It’s a breathtaking sight, close enough you’ll feel you could reach out and touch the sky.

Each sailing includes English-friendly guided commentary by Norihisa Minagawa of the Tokyo Suribachi Society, who uncovers hidden stories about the area’s geography and urban design, perfect for curious explorers seeking Tokyo’s unseen layers.

Routes:

1. Plane-Watching Cruise (around 4pm)
Catch departing jets from a front-row seat as the sun begins to set over Tokyo Bay, a rare view you can’t find anywhere else in the city.

2. “Sci-Fi ” Cruise to Yokohama (around 6pm)
Sail past the kojoyakei (literally “factory nightscapes”) — surreal mazes of illuminated pipes and towers that shimmer like scenes from a dystopian sci-fi film. Celebrated among Japan’s urbanscape lovers, these glowing industrial views have become a buzzword for their mysterious and mechanical beauty. The cruise carries you across the water all the way to Yokohama.
