War and Human Rights: A Panel Exhibition on Gaza, Palestine and Ukraine
Aug 22, 2025 at 9:00am ~ Sep 19, 2025 at 5:00pm
From August 22nd to September 19th, 2025, the Human Rights Library in Tokyo will host a thought-provoking exhibition exploring the connections between war and human rights through the lens of the ongoing crises in Gaza, Palestine, and Ukraine.
This special exhibition coincides with the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, a milestone that highlights the importance of preserving the memories of survivors while reflecting on today’s conflicts. As the number of first-hand witnesses to war continues to decline, the exhibition underscores the urgency of passing on lessons of peace and human dignity to future generations.
On display will be two moving collections: My Family, My Homeland, Ukraine—a series of photographs preserved by the NPO Alpe Refugee Center, capturing the lives and memories of those who fled to Japan—and Gaza, Palestine: History and Present, presented by the Utoro Peace Memorial Museum. Together, these works offer a powerful reminder of the human stories behind global conflicts.
Whether you are interested in history, human rights, or simply wish to engage with pressing global issues, this exhibition provides a space for reflection and dialogue in the heart of Tokyo.
