Immersive Art Project YASKA: Mythic Immersion
Oct 24, 2026 at 5:00pm ~ Oct 24, 2026 at 9:00pm
The immersive art project YASKA holds its world premiere, retelling one of Japan’s oldest myths through a mix of electronic music, traditional instruments and live performance.
The project centers on Ama-no-Iwato (the Heavenly Rock Cave), a legend in which the sun goddess Amaterasu hides inside a cave and leaves the world in darkness. Light returns only after the goddess Ame-no-Uzume dances outside the entrance, and the laughter of the gathered deities draws Amaterasu back out.
YASKA brings this story to life with original techno, ambient and experimental tracks layered with the sounds of wagakki (traditional Japanese instruments) and gagaku (ancient imperial court music).
On stage, performers add a physical dimension through kinbaku (Japanese rope art), kabuki (classical Japanese theater) dance and contemporary choreography. The result is an evening where ritual and club culture meet, offering a new way to experience a centuries-old tale.
