MLB 2026 Topps Baseball Series 2 Japan Edition Release

Jul 28, 2026 at 10:00am ~ Jan 30, 2027 at 11:59pm

Topps rolls out its “MLB 2026 Topps Baseball Series 2 – Japan Edition” trading cards starting at 10am on Tuesday, July 28th, with packs going on sale sequentially at FamilyMart locations across the country. Each pack runs ¥770 and holds twelve cards, built around the same Series 2 checklist driving the current MLB card season — a mix of star players, rookies, and team cards — but with Japan-exclusive inserts mixed in at random. Topps notes those exclusive cards aren’t guaranteed in every pack, so there’s an added layer of chance built into the release.

Availability will vary by store and region, and FamilyMart isn’t accepting reservations or in-store holds for this release, so it comes down to walking in and checking what’s on the shelf. The retailer is also asking customers to skip phone inquiries about stock.

For collectors outside Japan, this Japan Edition has become a recurring draw precisely because of its exclusivity: past versions have carried region-only parallels not sold anywhere else, and this year’s release lands in the middle of Topps’ 75th-anniversary celebration of its baseball card line, adding an extra layer of interest for anyone chasing anniversary-specific cards.
