Autumn gets arty with an offbeat series of film screenings, live music and late-night drinks at Roppongi Hills. The novelty of the Cinema October festival is that local media personalities, including J-Wave DJ Chris Peppler and TV Asahi announcer Sawa Ishii, were asked to put together a program of films they would like to see. Entries include The Bucket List (chosen by model Satoko Koizumi) on October 16 and Up in the Air (Short Shorts Film Festival chair Tetsuya Bessho) on October 22. Select nightspots in the Roppongi Hills complex, including 37 Steakhouse and Morocco Bar, will offer post-screening happy hour specials from 9:30pm-midnight, and on Friday and Saturday evenings, you can check out musical performances at venues like Wired Café (October 23) and Rigoletto Bar & Grill (October 29).
