Inveterate geinokai prankster and underground dance music DJ Bryan Burton-Lewis has opened a futuristic new club in Aoyama. Grid, he says, aims to recreate the atmosphere of legendary venues like Maniac Love that once peppered Aoyama’s Koto dori area. Grid draws on Lewis’s deep connections with Japan’s dance music scene developed by running Fuji Rock’s legendary All-Night Fuji Friday night electronic music sessions. Look for Lewis with the impish grin. He’s as often as not to be found behind the decks himself at his very own “smart lounge.”
