Track down halal food in Tokyo

Developed by an Indonesian student living in Japan, Halal Minds is an app that offers three means of tracking down halal food—which can be pretty tricky outside the Shin Okubo area. You can pinpoint halal restaurants and markets within 30km of your location, scan the barcode of any item to check it against current data, or scroll through the database manually. Depending on how strict you want to be, you can even select whether to check for non-halal ingredients or confirm official halal certification. Users can also add items to the collective database—an  important feature, as the product is still in its infancy.

Available on iTunes and Google Play.
