Sanyo’s Eneloop range is like the Duracell Bunny it’s cool to like. We first heard about this hybrid lamp/flashlight a few months ago, but it wasn’t until we actually got our paws on one the other weekend that we realized how good it really was. On the one hand, it’s a scrumptiously sleek vase-shaped light that bathes your hipster pad in a soft white glow—or, when switched to “healing mode,” cerulean blue. The lamp is powered by a pair of rechargeable batteries, offering up to 45 hours of light. And the other bit? When tilted 90 degrees, it transforms into a flashlight—perfect for when the Big One hits. Batteries, dock and AC adaptor included.
Eneloop Lamp, ¥14,800. Available from major electronics and interior stores.
