The music of Miles Davis comes to Tokyo in a series of shows by the man who helped write and produce it—and who also happens to be one of jazz’s greatest ever bass players. Marcus Miller, peerless slap bassist and Davis’ right-hand man for the last decade of his life, is traveling the world performing songs from the effortlessly cool Tutu and other albums that he and Davis collaborated on. Backing Miller on the “Tutu Revisited: The Music of Miles Davis” tour are Christian Scott, who has the tall order of replicating Davis’ inimitable style, Alex Han on sax, Federico Pena on keyboard and Ronald Bruner on drums.
