NOT KIDDING
Regarding “Land of the Missing Son” (The Last Word, May 10): I recommend you to check the documentary From The Shadows about this topic. They follow a few left-behind parents. www.fromtheshadowsmovie.com.—lovenasa
ERRATA
Regarding “Eclipse” (Upfront, May 14): Just to let you know that you printed the wrong date for the eclipse in the current issue! You wrote June 20, and it’s on the 21st… Oops! I wonder how many people will get up early on the wrong day because of this…—JF
[It was actually on May 21—Eds]
Regarding “Lee Bul” (Art, Apr 26): Lee is her surname, not Bul. Unless you’re on a first-name basis with her. Please be more careful when dealing with Asian names.—palidor
Regarding “Battleship” (Movie Reviews, May 11): Really… Battleship is a video game? Maybe somebody should tell that to Hasbro, they are selling a board game instead…—develin
MOOGS AWAY
Regarding “Richard Pinhas and Merzbow” (CD Review, Apr 17): Been listening to Richard and Merzbow for almost 20 years. The Cuneiform label has the best in new innovative and creative soundz wild beyond your normal thump thump beat of the everlasting bass drum. Another point on this article, although Pinhas plays guitar, for his early work with French band Heldon in the ’90s he used A.R.P. electroniks, VCS3, Mellotron, and in the ’80s an E-Mu computer system, Polymoog, Moog 55, and a polyphonic synth.—xrcxx
HELLO GOODBYE
Regarding “What Are You Looking At?” (The Last Word, Apr 26): I come from a country where it’s kind of normal to acknowledge people you meet on the street, shops and wherever. Just a “hi” or “hello” is cool. I’m not gonna stop now. Even if it blows their “I’m the only gaijin in Japan” dream.—pauly
You’re walking past thousands of people in a place like Tokyo. If you were saying hello to everyone, Japanese and foreigners alike, it would still be mighty strange but at least it would be fair! Ignoring Japanese people all day and vigorously nodding at every foreigner you see just seems racist to me, although in a backhanded fashion.—johnnyrabbit
BULLTWIT
Loved the “Student Soapbox” feature article [May 10]. Nice inspiring stories by students!—@Curiousiko
Thanks for your Burger Special during my trip [Apr 13]—here’s my little write up: http://t.co/kkQljZ2o—@perfecttrough
Re: The E.A.T. diner in the new Hikarie building… I’m very sure its NOT Cali style. In n Out or FatBurger IS.—@StarrWulfe
Regarding “Green Escapes” (Upfront Extra, Apr 24): There is a glowing “green escape” in Fukushima…—@ststev
