Ominous clouds overhead did nothing to dampen the enthusiasm of the crowds on Metropolis Race Day, which took place Saturday, October 17, at Tokyo Racecourse in Fuchu. Readers of all ages came out to enjoy an afternoon of food, fun, giveaways—and heart-pounding racing action. Although the winnings didn’t quite cover everyone’s beer money, a high-spirited day was had by all. Next up on the big-time racing calendar is the Japan Cup on Sunday, November 29, when top international horses will compete in one of the biggest and most exciting competitions in the world.
