Contemporary dance doyenne Mika Kurosawa sets up shop at the Komaba Agora Theater near Shibuya for a series of pieces to be presented under the catch-all title “Minimal Dance Project.” First up is a debut of the solo work Mimi (“Ears”), slated to pair Kurosawa with performance artist Kubikukuri Takuzo on November 28 and avant-garde bassist Tetsu Saitoh on December 3. Kurosawa is then joined by her company for a revival of ’90s work Jazzzzzzz-dance, and the debut of a new piece, Hiza no Hi (“Fire on Knee”). Not only a dancer but a musician, artist and poet, Kurosawa worked with leading modern dance companies in New York before returning to Japan in 1985 to form her own company.
