Bleeding Love

Bleeding out

A father and his screwed-up daughter (Ewan McGregor and his spawn, Clara) are on a road trip across the Southwestern U.S. for reasons initially undisclosed.

The usual offbeat characters are encountered, quirky roadside attractions are visited, emotional buttons are pushed, accusations and confessions are made, and audiences are bored to tears. It’s too talky with nothing new to say, and it’s over-directed (by Emma Westenberg). Oddly, there’s no discernable chemistry between the two.

I think it’s nice that Ewan wanted to generate some screen credits for his unlovely daughter (she’s also a co-writer!), but that doesn’t mean you need to waste any of your time on this surprise-free, indulgent and entitled drivel. (96 min)
