Camille is an introverted Long Island skateboarder who, to elude her disapproving-but-loving single mom, hooks up with a fringe-dwelling, all-girl NYC skating crew. It’s billed as a drama, but the line between documentary and fiction is indistinct, and it takes an observant viewer to discern the story arc as she learns acceptance, anguish and forgiveness amid an engrossing microcosm of community-building American millennials (largely playing themselves). The mood in this minor coming-of-age gem is welcoming, inviting and non-judgmental, and the music’s fun. A most excellent hang-out movie. (106 min)
