Hip-hop-influenced contemporary dancer Kentaro!! brings his marvelously supple bod and his Tokyo Electrock Stairs company to the new public theater in Koenji. The 29-year-old performer, who founded the hip-hop dance group Lockin’ On ten years ago, has recently made a splash in the contemporary dance field, becoming resident artist at the key Session House venue in 2007 and touring worldwide. Kentaro!! takes the vocabulary of street performance into the rarified contemporary-dance sphere: the promotion video for Nagai Yoru no S.N.F. shows Electrock Stairs dancing on the streets, bridges and escalators of Tokyo.
