Vladimir Malakhov and the Tokyo Ballet come together in homage to legendary Russian ballet dancer Vaslav Nijinksy. Considered the finest dancer of the 20th century, Nijinsky helped bring the then-newfangled Russian ballet to the West as part of the Ballets Russes and debuted shocking new pieces like Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring. One of the great dancers of his own generation and current Artistic Director of the Berlin State Ballet, Vladmir Malakhov will dance signature Nijinsky pieces Les Sylphides and Afternoon of a Faun.
Tokyo Bunka Kaikan, Jan 12-14 (listing).
