Panasonic has lined up a bevy of beauties to promote its new Lumix GF1, which is said to be the world’s smallest, lightest digital SLR camera. Among those appearing in TV ads and posters will be race queen Miwa Moriki, soprano Norie Suzuki, actress Kanako Higuchi (who is also in Softbank Mobile’s series of “White Family” ads), actress Kaori Torii (Cinema Paradise) and model Marino Takahashi. The group is featured in the ad campaign along with the not-exactly-catchy catchphrase “Women with single-lens reflex cameras.” At a recent press event, Suzuki promised that “anyone can take beautiful photos with this camera.” Panasonic said it is hoping to target young female buyers.
