Expect a good portion of the 60,000 Peruvians in Japan to celebrate their heritage at Studio Coast this weekend with music, dancing and plenty of regional cuisine. Headlining the eight-hour extravaganza is El Barrio Canta, which boasts some of Japan’s most eminent salsa musicians, including trumpeter Luis Valle. Also on the bill is Asi es mi Tierra, a 14-strong ensemble that performs Andean folk music and dance in native dress. Four Peruvian restaurants will be dishing up local specialties, and there will also be a variety of activities for kids.
