In 1968, an old soviet missile sub mysteriously sank in the North Pacific. It was later raised by the US, but neither side has ever offered an explanation. But you know that doesn’t stop the conspiracy theorizing. This one posits that the sinking was the result of a conflict between some radical KGB creeps scheming to start a nuclear war with the US and blame China, and cooler-headed Soviet Navy veterans. A cheap but efficient submarine thriller that works when Ed Harris appears (the skipper) but sinks to the bottom in scenes involving David Duchovny (the KGB). Shot inside a real Soviet sub.
