Over ten years of producing the Metropolis MetPod, Kamasami Kong has brought you interviews with celebrities such as Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Donald Trump, and Sergio Mendez, plus Tokyo entrepreneurs, diplomats, VIPs—and many of our wonderful readers, too.

Now Kong is going to show you how to how to put together your own podcast. On April 12, join Metropolis for the “Lights, Camera… Podcast” demonstration. Presented in part by Antelope Audio, makers of some of the world’s finest audio gear, this event at the Apple Store Ginza Theater, will have Kamasami Kong interview guests to create a podcast right in the theater. He’ll demonstrate how to prepare gear and material, record, edit, mix, master and upload an episode. He’ll also share insider tips and interview techniques to get the most out of guests.

This is the second in a series of “learn-from-the-entertainment-professionals” events presented at the Apple Store. Taking part will be Metropolis peeps like Editor-in-Chief Jeff W. Richards talking about what’s in the magazine, as well as our resident movie guru, the cranky critic Don Morton. Talented keyboardist and vocalist Kaleb James will also be there along with a special guest Yeo Inhyeok. A newly discovered Kyoto University student, Inhyeok will sing an a-capella version of the Stevie Wonder song, “I Wish,” in which he performs both the lyrical melody and all accompanying parts with his voice alone. There will be a Q&A session.

We will also be giving away gift certificates for Suji’s restaurant as prizes (NYC-style pastrami sandwiches anyone?).

This 90-minute “lecturette” starts at 7pm, is conducted in both English and Japanese, and is limited to just 80 people—so get there early or reserve a spot.
