You could forgive guests at Hotel Mt. Fuji for feeling a little narked if they spent their entire stay waiting for the clouds to clear and reveal Japan’s loftiest peak, towering over the waters of Lake Yamanaka. Evidently, the hotel management feels the same, which is why each year they offer compensation to guests who are denied their Kodak moment. If Fuji isn’t visible for over one minute between your check-in and check-out, you’ll be given a voucher for a free night’s stay at the hotel, valid through June 30. Now that’s what we call putting your money where your mouth is. The promotion runs from Jan 17-Feb 4, and conditions apply.
