I must have seen the trailer a dozen times. Then I saw the flick and realized that the trailer was good because it didn’t include any of the sappy parts of this overlong celebrity costume karaoke party. Two dozen covers by singing actors of the most ubiquitous top 40s hits of the ’80s shoehorned into a profoundly inconsequential and shopworn (but perky) PG-13 plot about “putting on a show” to save a legendary Sunset Strip rock club. Dear reader, I love rock ’n’ roll, any way you want it, and I’m not saying you should stop believing, but this one just goes on and on and on and on. Try to catch the trailer.
