It was a neat idea: take one old-school neighborhood sento, add a well-regarded indie musician or two, and see how things go. But after luring some big-name talent and even starring in a JR ad campaign, Furorock will be heading to the great bathhouse in the sky next month. Held in the unlikely surroundings of the Benten-yu sento in Kichijoji, this occasional concert series has featured artists including UA, Shugo Tokumaru, Jim O’Rourke and Kicell, whose frontman Shigeru Kishida will play the final show. Tickets for the last three performances are on sale now via the Furorock website, and likely to go very fast indeed.
